Yoon Chang, The Breeze Through the Studio, 2026
Oil and Oil Stick on Canvas, Artist frame
40 × 30 in

Yoon Chang, Cindy Craig, Mary Lai

In partnership with Gallery Royoon (Seoul) and Allied Special Projects (Los Angeles), 𝘙𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 (돌아가는 삼각지) takes its Korean title from a 1967 song about Samgakji, the three-cornered neighborhood where the exhibition sits. In Korean, the verb 돌아가다 means both to go around and to return. The song came first; the year after its release, a massive elevated rotary (the only one of its kind in Korea) was completed at the Samgakji crossing, as if the city had built what the song imagined. It stood turning for twenty seven years until its demolition in 1994.
